AWS Solutions Architect (Principal Engineer)
We’re looking for AWS Solutions Architect (Principal Engineer) to join our team and help us grow at an even greater speed!
What You’ll Do
- Architect complex AWS solutions using best practices, anticipating future use cases and minimizing the cost of change.
- Lead client engagements end-to-end — shape the approach, scope work, estimate effort, and drive technical outcomes.
- Design and build infrastructure as code using Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation — and set the standard for how the team does it.
- Own CI/CD strategy and implementation — from pipeline design to deployment automation across varied client environments.
- Run Well-Architected Framework Reviews with startups — analyze their infrastructure, produce remediation plans, and guide execution.
- Own and evolve Cloudvisor’s monitoring solution — onboard new customers, tune for their needs, and build custom variants when required.
- Support pre-sales — engage directly with prospective customers, present architectures, and shape SOWs alongside the sales team.
- Diagnose cross-service issues that others can’t, and turn fixes into systemic improvements.
- Support AWS funding and program applications (MAP, POC funding, etc.), coordinating with AWS representatives.

- Job TypeFull Time

You Will Lead
- Mentor engineers across the team — create redundancy, build depth, and help teammates grow past their current ceiling.
- Lead technical interviews and help shape Cloudvisor’s technical interview process.
- Drive cross-team initiatives on security, reliability, and delivery — applying the org’s security strategy and fostering a security-first mindset by example.
- Set the bar for documentation and knowledge sharing — because what you know should scale beyond you.
- Anticipate and communicate blockers before they require escalation; keep commitments realistic and transparent.
- Drive process improvements that affect multiple teams, not just your own projects.
- Foster a culture of feedback, respectful disagreement, and goal-oriented execution — and actively demonstrate it.
How you show up matters as much as what you build. We value engineers who give clear feedback, challenge ideas respectfully, and make the people around them better.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in cloud, software, or infrastructure engineering — with substantial AWS depth;
- At least one AWS Professional-level certification (Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional). A second Pro cert is a plus and expected over time;
- Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code — Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation;
- Production experience with CI/CD — you've designed pipelines from scratch for varied environments, not just maintained existing ones;
- Hands-on containerization experience — Docker, ECS, EKS;
- Experience across multi-account AWS environments — Control Tower, Organizations, Landing Zones;
- Pre-sales or client-facing architecture experience — you can present a solution to a founder or CTO and defend the trade-offs;
- A track record of mentoring engineers and raising the bar of teams you've been part of;
- Excellent written and spoken English — our working language, and the language of our clients.
Bonus points
- Experience at an AWS Partner, MSP, or cloud consultancy;
- FinOps or cost optimization expertise — you know your way around the AWS Pricing Calculator and have real scar tissue from reducing bills;
- Experience running Well-Architected Framework Reviews;
- Security specialization (IAM at scale, SCPs, Security Hub, threat modeling);
- Startup environment experience — you know how fast-scaling teams actually operate.
