HelloSafe was previously running its services on Heroku, which presented several limitations

  • Scalability constraints – Growing usage led to slow response times and difficulties in handling traffic spikes efficiently.
  • High operational costs – Increasing expenses for resources and add-ons, with limited opportunities for cost control.
  • Limited flexibility – Lack of customization options and control over infrastructure, hindering optimization.
  • Need for a robust setup – Required a scalable, automated, and secure solution to support future growth.

Solutions

Cloudvisor designed and executed a fully AWS-funded migration, ensuring zero cost for HelloSafe’s transition from Heroku to AWS. The architecture prioritized scalability, security, and cost efficiency. The migration was carried out in four structured phases:

Phase 1: AWS Account Setup & Initial Deployment

  1. AWS accounts were pre-configured following security best practices, including provisioning key security services and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  2. Symfony & NextJS applications were deployed in a staging environment.

 

Phase 2: CI/CD Pipeline & Verification

  1. A CI/CD pipeline framework was implemented to automate deployments and streamline updates.
  2. The client verified application functionality in the staging environment.

 

Phase 3: Production Deployment & DNS Update

  1. Symfony & NextJS services were deployed in the production environment.
  2. Traffic was redirected to the new AWS infrastructure, ensuring a seamless transition.

 

Phase 4: Project Handover & Knowledge Transfer

  1. Cloudvisor provided architecture documentation and best practices guidelines.
  2. A final knowledge transfer session ensured the HelloSafe team could confidently manage their AWS setup.
